January sales on Poshmark

February 5, 2020 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

Another month has come and gone. I sold a total of 20 items on Poshmark – only about 2/3 of the way to my goal of selling an average of at least one item per day.

I have a bunch of things listed. My closet is actually so big it makes it hard to share because there is just so much. It is not curated at all, instead pretty haphazard, a bit of this, a bit of that.

I am super close to being finished going through my closet adding “3/$25” in front of a bunch of my listings in hopes that it will increase bundle sales. Thus far it has resulted in exactly zero bundle sales.

So. Ho hum.

But if you’re interested, here are a few items that did sell on PM last month.

Someone was preparing for the Super Bowl!

Victoria’s Secret 49ers tank
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $22

I do sell a fair number of costumes on PM.

Simba costume
Paid: $1.99 @ WM, Sold: $20

These toddler boots were so darned cute. They were with Halloween clearance, so I got them for 90% off.

Paid: $2.49 @ Target, Sold: $25

Guess what else I like to sell on PM? Shocking no one … plush and baby blankets, of course. Honestly, I sell about as many loveys on PM as I do clothing.

Tiddliwinks Giraffe Blanket
Paid: $1 @ ys, Sold: $20

Carter’s Thank Heaven for Baby Boys Blanket
Paid: $2.49 @ GW, Sold: $25

Ikea Dog Plush
Paid: $2.39 @ VV, Sold: $26

I listed consistently on PM in January, and I have to say I was quite underwhelmed by the results.

How is Poshmark looking for you? Please share.

Poshmark Update, 12/18/19

December 18, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 1 Comment

I am still plugging away at Poshmark. Things are busy with the upcoming holidays, so I have been trying to aim for consistency over quantity when it comes to listing on eBay, Poshmark and (now even) Mercari. My current magic number is 4 ~ that is how many new PM listings I try and put up each day.

At the beginning of the month I tried sending out offers to likers on Every.Single.One of my listings. I did this at the beginning of November and sold nine things in one day, which I thought was a decent result. This time around I only sold four things. Two were really old listings that I was super excited to see go … but overall, the four sales didn’t necessarily seem worth all the time I spent sending out the offers. I am not sure I will be repeating the experience in January.

Last month was the first month I averaged more than one sale per day on PM! Not sure yet if I will make it to that goal this month.

November – 44 Poshmark sales
December – 21 Poshmark sales (SO FAR…)

I have a continuous 3/$25 sale I run on PM for many of my listings. I heard a recommendation somewhere to pick an emoji to put at the beginning of the listing to clue buyers in to what is included in the sale. So, hundreds of my listings start with a tulip icon, and I have sporadic signs throughout my closet with the details of the sale. I have sold a few bundles this way, but not many. So over the next month I have plans to slowly add “3/$25” to the beginning of every listing included in the sale to make it super obvious there is some kind of a sale going on. I am hoping that will lure more buyers in to peruse my store.

3/$25🌷

If you have any tricks up your sleeves about getting sales, specifically bundle sales, I would love to hear them!

Poshmark Update, 11/20/19

November 20, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 5 Comments

I had a question recently about how things are going on Poshmark. I guess my answer would be … slow but steady? But, yeah, slow. Here are how my sales have played out for the last several months:

July – 4 Poshmark sales
August – 15 Poshmark sales
September – 26 Poshmark sales
October – 24 Poshmark sales
November – 34 Poshmark sales (SO FAR…)

Up until this point my goal has been to average at least one sale per day. This is the first month I have actually hit that goal (and I still have a week and a half left to go in the month). The biggest reason I finally hit my goal is that at the beginning of the month I sent out offers to likers on every! single! item! in my closet that had any likes on it. It took a couple hours of my time, and resulted in 9 sales that day, which was definitely my highest sales day yet.

My daily PM routine is to:
~ crosspost at least 5 items from eBay
~share to parties as appropriate
~send offers to likers on any newly liked listings
~try to share my closet a bit at a time as time allows

I am able to do all of the above quite consistently, it is rare I miss a day. I have pretty much stopped making a specific effort to follow new people and share other people’s closets. From what I read and hear it seems like sharing my own closet should be the priority. Sharing my own closet often results in new likes on my items, which prompts me to send an offer to the liker, which occasionally results in a sale.

Who else is selling on Poshmark? How have things been going recently for you? Do you have other tasks you focus on that bring in the sales? What are your monthly sales goals? I would love to hear about them!

BOLO ~ Ditz Plush

October 13, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

Paid: $1 @ ys, Sold: $50 (on PM)

This was a new brand for me. I came across the sheep plush above at a yard sale at the end of August. I looked up the brand at the yard sale and was surprised to see the prices some of the plush can sell for. And surprisingly, this sold on Poshmark, not eBay.

Check out completeds on eBay here.

Happy hunting!

Poshmark Progress, 10/2/19

October 2, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 4 Comments

So, I have officially been on Poshmark over a year now. It was really, really slow going, but I am finally starting to feel like I am getting a bit of traction.

I will say though that I don’t have a particularly curated closet. I pretty much throw anything and everything up on PM, whether or not it’s super trendy. I have even started using the Home category, and have listed some baby blankets and plush.

It is my goal to list at least 5 items per day. I cross list from eBay, so this really doesn’t take very long. I am still working to reach my goal of selling an average of one item per day, but I’ve gotten so much closer!

In July I listed 143 new items on PM, and sold a grand total of 4.
In August I listed 144 new items, and sold 15.
In September I listed 147 new items, and sold 27.

Pretty darn close to my goal! May this month I will reach it.

These were my stats, as of Monday morning.

How is Poshmark going for you?

Poshmark Progress

May 8, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 5 Comments

I remember posting about joining Poshmark once upon a time … I just looked and it was all the way back in June! I am still listing and selling there, but it can be so slow. I just took a look at my stats, and since I started selling in June I have sold 92 things. Which isn’t nothing … but when you think about it, and how many days I have been active on PM … it really isn’t a lot.

Listing on PM takes almost no time because I cross-post from eBay. I usually need to square my photos (I use Pixlr, it works great) and from there it is just cut and paste. Lickety split.

Fun fact: almost 1/3 of the sales I have made on PM have been costumes. I bought a LOT after Halloween last year and immediately cross-posted them all, which has paid off.

I became a Posh Ambassador a few months back. I actually had all of the requirements in place to earn that status several months before with the exception of having actually made a PM purchase myself.

(Actually, randomly, I did make a PM purchase shortly after joining and the package was lost by the USPS! I never got it. I waited a couple weeks hoping to receive the package, but no dice. When I let PM know I had never received the package (as verified by the tracking) my money was promptly refunded.)

Fast forward several months I made a second purchase which did actually arrive, I left a love note, and voila! Posh Ambassador. I’m not sure if it actually affects my sales at all, but it definitely affects my number of followers. I get many, many more followers now than I did previously.

Since the beginning of the year I have been keeping track of my number of listings and followers, mostly as a curiosity to see how it progresses.

February 1, 2019 and March 1, 2019 stats

April 1, 2019 and May 1, 2019 stats

I try to be active on PM every day. Most days I create three new listings.

I share to parties as appropriate. I share my own listings and follow and share the listings of others. I try to do this every day, but I also try to only do this in chunks of time that I wouldn’t be doing anything else. (For example, my five minute walk from my car in to work, my breaks at work, riding in the car when my husband is driving.) I try not to let PM sharing invade my real life or online working hours because if I let it, it could TAKE OVER!

I would really like to get to the point where I could consistently have one PM sale every day. That doesn’t seem like too much to ask, does it? I would be happy to take any advice from those who also sell on PM. What have you done to help increase your own sales? Please share!

Dabbling on Poshmark

June 22, 2018 by Kari @ She Thrifts 11 Comments

I have been thinking about listing clothes on Poshmark for quite awhile.  In fact, when I went to set up an account recently I was surprised to discover that I already had one, that I set up way back in December, 2016.

A few days ago on a whim I decided to list a couple items.  Now, I honestly have no idea how it all works.  I know I have heard that sharing is important.  Is the sharing just – random?  Does it matter what I share, or just that I do it?  Should I just follow absolutely everyone?  (Are the 300+ people who have started following me for no known reason just hoping for a follow back?)

Can people always make offers?  I only had a handful of items listed, and this evening I got an offer on one of them.  It was a bit low, but I decided I should take it, just to get my feet wet.  So, yay!  First Poshmark sale, check.

I got the e-mail with the shipping label.  I know it will go Priority, and when I was reading through all of the Poshmark FAQs a few days back it seemed they recommend using the free USPS boxes.  The item I sold is a small skirt.  It seems silly to put it in a box.  Are polymailers still okay?  It seems maybe I remember sellers buying cutsie polymailers for their Poshmark sales?

If you are already on Poshmark and have any tips or tricks I would love to hear them.  And/or if you follow any Poshmark sellers on Youtube please share that too.  I think someone here recommended The Empty Hanger awhile back, and I have watched a few of her videos, but other than that this is all brand new to me!

Thanks, friends!
