Favorite Flips Friday – January sales

February 7, 2020 by Kari @ She Thrifts 1 Comment

Here are a few of my favorite sales from January on eBay.

Baby blankets are always my top favorite. These all sold between $27.95 – $34.95.

This particular Spark Create Imagine elephant plush seems to have a good sell-through rate.

Paid: $2.99 @ GW, Sold: $19.95
(4 days after listed)

Squishable plush are new for me, but this one sold very quickly.

Paid: $0.40 @ GWO, Sold: $19.95
(1.5 hours after listed)

I sometimes find duplicates of plush or loveys. I usually list one and keep the second in a duplicates tote, and list it after the first has sold. (With used items I hesitate in making multi-quantity listings because the condition may be different). I sold two of these People Pals plush cows for $24.95/ea about 2 months apart … to the same person. She also asked that I let her know if I find any more in the future.

Boo Boo Bear Plush
Paid: $1 @ ys, BO Accepted: $30
(listed since July, 2019)

I picked up this aardvark (??) plush at a small local thrift when visiting my in-laws last summer.

Paid: $0.50, BO Accepted: $35
(listed since Aug, 2019)

Toddler Piglet Costume
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $29.95
(2 days after listed)

Purple Hush Puppies
Paid: $3 @ ys, BO Accepted: $34 + shipping
(listed since Sept, 2019)

JLo Lovelies Jeans
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $39.95
(listed since July, 2019)

VTG Gunne Sax Girls Dress
Paid: $5 @ ys, Sold: $39.95 + shipping
(auction that only got one bid)

Princess Leia Her Universe Dress
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $39.95
(2 days after listed)

The North Face Denali Jacket
Paid: $1.92 @ GWO
Sold: $49.95 + shipping
(9 days after listed)

Did you have any fun sales in January? I would love to hear about them!

January sales on Poshmark

February 5, 2020 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

Another month has come and gone. I sold a total of 20 items on Poshmark – only about 2/3 of the way to my goal of selling an average of at least one item per day.

I have a bunch of things listed. My closet is actually so big it makes it hard to share because there is just so much. It is not curated at all, instead pretty haphazard, a bit of this, a bit of that.

I am super close to being finished going through my closet adding “3/$25” in front of a bunch of my listings in hopes that it will increase bundle sales. Thus far it has resulted in exactly zero bundle sales.

So. Ho hum.

But if you’re interested, here are a few items that did sell on PM last month.

Someone was preparing for the Super Bowl!

Victoria’s Secret 49ers tank
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $22

I do sell a fair number of costumes on PM.

Simba costume
Paid: $1.99 @ WM, Sold: $20

These toddler boots were so darned cute. They were with Halloween clearance, so I got them for 90% off.

Paid: $2.49 @ Target, Sold: $25

Guess what else I like to sell on PM? Shocking no one … plush and baby blankets, of course. Honestly, I sell about as many loveys on PM as I do clothing.

Tiddliwinks Giraffe Blanket
Paid: $1 @ ys, Sold: $20

Carter’s Thank Heaven for Baby Boys Blanket
Paid: $2.49 @ GW, Sold: $25

Ikea Dog Plush
Paid: $2.39 @ VV, Sold: $26

I listed consistently on PM in January, and I have to say I was quite underwhelmed by the results.

How is Poshmark looking for you? Please share.

Bonanza! A sales update.

January 28, 2020 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

Something has been going on with Bonanza. I have my listings set up to automatically import from eBay to Bonanza. Usually I have one sale a month on Bonanza, maybe two. But the last week of December I had three sales! That seemed like a lot all at once. And in the first few weeks of January I sold EIGHT more items.

I actually starting writing this post last week, so in the final week of January I have had zero more Bonanza sales. It seems my streak is over. I think it is still worth sharing though because from what I can tell almost all of my Bonanza sales come from people randomly searching online and stumbling across Bonanza items. The majority of my sales are to people who I can tell just created their accounts to be able to purchase my item.

Wondering what has been selling on Bonanza?

Boys Referee Costume
Paid: $0.49 @ WM, Sold: $14.80
(listed since Dec, 2019)

Pink Kellytoy Plush
Paid: $0.99 @ VV, Sold: $17.77
(listed since July, 2015)

Sheep Blanket
Paid: $2.39 @ VV, Sold: $24.70
(listed since Oct, 2019)

I sold not one, not two, but THREE lollipop costumes to the same person.

Paid: $3 @ Target (each)
Sold: $24.70 (each)
(listed since Nov, 2019)

Mickey Mouse blue lovey
Paid $1 @ ys, Sold: $14.80
(listed since May, 2018)

Little Miracles Chevron Blanket
Paid: $3.19 @ VV
BO Accepted: $35
(listed since Nov, 2019)

Men’s Joker Costume
Paid: $2.99 @ WM
Sold: $29.65 + shipping
(listed since Nov, 2019)

Kellytoy Plush Bunny Rattle
Paid: $1 @ ys, Sold: $24.70
(listed since June, 2019)

Carter’s Musical Dog
Paid: $1 @ rummage sale, Sold: $17.77
(listed since April, 2019)

Although there were more than usual, these are the types of items I typically sell on Bonanza. Of my 200ish lifetime sales on Bonanza, I can only remember selling a couple of clothing items, and those that I do remember selling were coats. I just went looking for a place in my account that lists my total sales and while I didn’t find that, I did find this:

Which confirms that the majority of my sales (at least over the last 30 days) came from Google. I think this holds true in past months too.

Side note. If there is a way to automatically import from eBay to Bonanza, why can’t this be done for PM or Mercari? Do they not want to be flooded with eBay listings? Are eBay and Bonanza affiliated in some way? I’ve actually wondered this for a long time, and it seems like I even looked it up once but wasn’t able to confirm it was true.

Does anyone else still sell on Bonanza? How is it going over there?

2015!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I pretty much keep things listed until they sell. Thankfully it is rare for it to take that long.

Littlefoot Gund Plush
Paid: $2 @ rummage sale
Sold: $29.95
(listed since July, 2019)

Some Land Before Time plush sell better than Gund brand. Keep an eye out!

(listed since July, 2019)

‘Tis the season for selling coats. All of those above sold in the $30-$40 range, plus shipping.

Every year at Christmas my boys’ BABW plush get new outfits. I purchased the lot on the left on eBay for $16.99. I kept all of the super hero outfits, and sold the Disney outfits on the right for $17.95.

Not huge flips, but I have had good luck selling NWT Bark Box dog toys. I bought a box of them at a ys over the summer and they all sold quickly. This one is Vincent Van Squirrel.
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $17.95
(listed since Nov, 2019)

How has your Q4 been? I can’t believe the new year is right around the corner!! Where oh where does the time go?

Favorite Flips Friday, November Sales

December 6, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 2 Comments

I had fairly steady sales throughout November. Here are a few of my favorite flips.

I sold a lot of loveys in November. These all sold for $24.95:

All of these sold for $29.95:

These sold for $34.95:

This gingerbread plush sold last month. I was watching a new Netflix (Hallmark-esque) Christmas movie not long after and saw the exact same plush! Made me wonder if it caught the eye of someone else watching the movie and motivated them to look it up on eBay?

Paid: $1 @ ys
Sold: $18.66 (on sale)
Listed since July, 2019

Someone bought Kermit at the end of October. He was packaged up and ready to go when I got a cancellation request stating that her son accidentally ordered it. I was skeptical and a bit annoyed since I had it all ready to go and had to void the label, etc, but since I hadn’t mailed it I did as she requested. About a week later I was running a sale and it sold again for a few dollars less. Kermit was still packaged in the box so I grabbed it, removed the old label, printed the new label only to discover … the exact same person bought it again. (Insert eye roll here.)

Paid: $0.50 @ ys, Sold $21.21 (on sale)
Listed since August, 2019

You can sell anything on eBay! These were still new, factory sealed. I picked them up out of a free box at a yard sale over the summer.

Paid: $0, Sold: $14.95 + shipping
Listed since Sept, 2019

I knew I wanted this when I saw it at a GW, but it took me awhile to figure out what it even was.

Coleman oversized dog toy
Paid: $2.99 @ GW, Sold: $34.95
(21 days after listed)

This was the only Ugly Christmas Sweater I picked up to flip this year, and I was glad it sold relatively early.

Paid: $0.50 @ ys, Sold: $24.95
(15 days after listed)

Little Miracles is found at Costco, and is definitely one of my favorite lovey brands to pick up. This was a set of a blanket and mat.

Paid: $5 @ consignment sale
Sold: $44.95
(17 days after listed)

Tis the holiday season. My sales aren’t amazing, but they are pretty steady. How are things shaping up for you? I’d love to hear about it!

BOLO ~ BABW: Paw Patrol

November 24, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

It’s no secret that I love to sell plush.  Some of the Paw Patrol characters from Build A Bear (and associated clothing and accessories) can sell well. Check out Zuma, Rubble, Rocky and Everest. Happy hunting!

BOLO ~ Ditz Plush

October 13, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

Paid: $1 @ ys, Sold: $50 (on PM)

This was a new brand for me. I came across the sheep plush above at a yard sale at the end of August. I looked up the brand at the yard sale and was surprised to see the prices some of the plush can sell for. And surprisingly, this sold on Poshmark, not eBay.

Check out completeds on eBay here.

Happy hunting!

Help me name my Etsy store!

October 12, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 4 Comments

Since this is my year to resell online full-time, I am finally going to dip my toe in the Etsy pool. This is something I have been thinking about doing for years (and years and years). Honestly, Etsy kinda intimidates me. And I am not super into vintage … except when I am. Which is usually vintage plush. I bought a lot of vintage plush from my cousin last summer when she was having a yard sale. Most are currently for sale in my eBay store, and they do sell occasionally. I’ve been thinking maybe I should cross post some of it to Etsy as a little trial run.

Of course when setting up an Etsy store one of the first things you need to know is the name of your store. To which I have given no thought. Something cute or clever or punny? That has to do with vintage, plush, love or loveys?

Gladly taking any name suggestions!! (As well as any Etsy tips you may like to pass along.)

Favorite Flips Friday, 10/11/19

October 11, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts 3 Comments

I have had a pretty decent sales week, but they were mostly bread-and-butter, slow-and-steady sales. Here are a few:

(New old stock) notebook paper. You can tell from the packaging that it is vintage. I wish I knew why they bought it, it’s so random.
They immediately left positive FB.
Paid: $0.50 @ ys, Sold: $14.95
(listed since May, 2019)

Benelton Men’s Wool Sweater Vest
Paid: $2 @ VV, Sold: $39.95 + shipping
(26 days after listed)

Elf on a Shelf loveys. Originally listed together, then someone asked to separate and I created a new listing … that they never purchased. Eventually relisted together, finally sold!
Paid: $3 on FB, Sold: $19.95
(originally listed Oct, 2016)

Princess & the Frog Tsum Tsums
Paid: $1 @ consignment sale,
Sold: $24.95
(11 hours after listed)

This is a vintage Care Bears toddler-size sleeping bag. The buyer was super excited, she said it is the same pattern she had when she was young, and she is going to repurpose it into a baby blanket for a family member.
Paid: $1 @ ys, BO Accepted: $25
(listed since July, 2019)

I have sold a few granny squares blankets, I definitely have the best luck with the black ones.
Paid: $3 @ ys, Sold: $39.95
(10 days after listed)

Did you have any noteworthy sales recently? I would love to hear about them!

BOLO ~ How To Train Your Dragon ~ BABW

September 29, 2019 by Kari @ She Thrifts Leave a Comment

I actually posted this as a BOLO over four years ago, but I think it *bears* repeating. Many of the How To Train Your Dragon plush from Build A Bear Workshop can sell for a nice amount. Check out some completeds HERE.

Meatlug often fetches the highest prices.

And if you need help identifying some of the HTTYD characters, this website could be helpful.

Happy hunting!
