I think I feel the need to report it every time this happens, which is silly. I live in a town of 150K+ people, so two or three times a year I sell something on eBay to someone who lives in the same town as me. Last night I was shipping items and up popped an address in my town. Out of curiosity I looked it up, and it is 3.1 miles from where I live. A tad further away than the Post Office it will be dropped off at, but not by much. Still curious (and at the risk of sounding like a stalker) I put the buyer’s name in FB and, whaddya know, we have a couple FB friends in common. It’s a small, small world.
We had that happen this summer. We sold a book to a family that lives around the corner from us. We can see their backyard from our backyard. We took an evening walk and hand delivered it. When they answered the door we recognized them as the same people that bought a sofa from us off of craigslist a few years back. Very small world.
We also noticed a very strange trend that when we travel out of state to visit family or go on vacation, sometime the next week we sell an item to one of the towns we visited.
WOW, that’s crazy close! 🙂 How funny.
This past summer We sold something to someone who lives in our town of 2,000. They actually live cati-corner from where we used to live (now we are out in the country). My husband delivered their item to them and they left great feedback. We thought that was pretty neat.
About 2 months ago, I sold a Williams Sonoma pan to a woman who lived 5 minutes from my mom’s house, and who actually goes to church with a friend of mine. Very small world, indeed!
