My favorite day to hit yard sales has always been Fridays. Yard sale season is slowly starting around here, and the previous two weekends I hit a handful of Friday sales. My goal is always to have everything I purchased for resale on one Friday to be up and listed by the next Friday. Does it always work out that way? Notsomuch. In fact, when I was looking up yard sales last night to see what might be coming up this morning I was actually kind of happy that almost no yard sales were listed (probably due to a projected weekend of rain, rain, rain). I’m only two weeks into yard sale season and already a bit backed up. Not a great way to start out.
The good news is, even though I haven’t gotten *everything* listed from last Friday, a couple of the items I did list have already sold. Including:
I think I got this idea from a post someone else did. I would never have even looked at the knife block twice on my own.
With just the two above sales I’ve made more than I spent that entire morning. Feels good!
And one last fast flip from this week. The next sale came out of a tote in my storage room, purchased who knows how long ago at Value Village. It was incomplete – only 104 of the original 120 pieces were included (which I of course disclosed in the listing). There were no other listings for this particular “puzzle”, and I waffled about how high I should go, but since it was missing quite a few pieces I went the moderate route. There are also other animals/versions out there – I’ll be keeping an eye out for these in the future.
How is yard sale season in your neck of the woods? Any good finds yet this year?
