What sold quickly in September

October 7, 2013 by Kari @ She Thrifts 8 Comments

Once again, to satisfy my own curiosity, I did a tally for the month to figure out how long each item that sold in September had been listed.  Here were the sales results:

Listed in September, 2013:  15

Listed in August, 2013: 10

Listed in July, 2013:  10

Listed in June, 2013: 36

Listed in May, 2013:  10

Listed in April, 2013: 3

Listed in March, 2013: 7

Listed in Feb, 2013:  1

Listed prior to Feb, 2013:  16

Halloween-related sales: 13

I add the date I first list an item to the very bottom of the description section, under my policy blurb.

I’m curious too Mrs4. I would have never thought about selling that Rolling Stone. I’m always learning and so glad for our little sharing community:)

eBay. I sold a second lot as well, but that one didn’t go quite as quickly. They were limited edition flavors. I got the idea from reading this post on the eBay Entrepreneur (and just happened across these being clearanced out at Walgreens):

This is a great idea. I think it’s encouraging that 16 of your sales this month were listed prior to February. Everyone likes to talk about dead listings and clearing out old inventory, but every month I have items that have sat here forever without even a watcher and all of the sudden they sell. And those costumes are adorable! πŸ™‚

I’ve never done a weeding of old inventory. It’s my personal belief that everything will sell eventually. πŸ™‚ Also, weeding things out would take up time that I could spend listing more new items. Getting new items listed is always my biggest focus, after my sold items are prepped and ready to be shipped.

I like the idea of keeping track of how long it takes for items to sell. I might have to integrate that into my listings as well.

I’ll check out the post from the eBay Entrepreneur. I’m always looking for a something that is on clearance.
