I’ve done fairly well keeping up with my listing goals so far this month. And guess what I’ve discovered? The more I list . . . the easier it gets. More and more frequently as I reach over to grab my next to-list item, I find that it is an item similar to another item I already have listed. Another boys Old Navy puffer vest? Sell as similar! Springbok puzzle? Sell as similar! 9″ Care Bear? Sell as similar! “Sell as similar” is quickly becoming my best friend.
As I type, I have listed 71 items over the last 15 days (which includes 3 days where I have listed no items at all).
And the icing on the cake? The more I list, the more I sell. I have sold 51 (!) items since July 1st. I couldn’t believe it when I counted them all up. That is A LOT for me. Of those 51 sold items, 20 were new listings since July 1.
Including:
I sold several Care Bears. This guy (Cozy Heart Penguin), Good Luck Bear, and Grumpy Bear always sell quickly for me.

I bought a bunch of bears for a quarter each. I thought about doing it the easy way and selling them all in a lot . . . but eventually decided to list them individually. They are so easy to list and ship. If I end up with some still hanging around in a couple months maybe I will think about putting them in a lot together and selling them inexpensively. (For Care Bears, it seems more profitable to sell them individually vs. in a lot.)

It’s almost midnight here,
and this is the second day in a row with zero new listings.
This weekend we did this instead:

And the 4 year-old and I went on a camel ride this afternoon! |
So, for the first time all month, I am a few listings behind my goal. But it’s okay. Sometimes a little break is a good thing. I’ll catch up tomorrow.
Wow! You’ve sold more than I have listed! Love the smash gloves…and your son on the camel…priceless!
What a motivating post!
Excellent motivating post! Thank you for the ticker link, I have been looking for one to use on my blog! Great sales month for you! Congrats!
I just love reading your blog! It’s inspiring and makes me excited about listing. Because of you I have been trying a little bit of plush. What is the best method you have found to ship them? How will you ship the hulk gloves? Also I have been wondering how you ended up shipping the microwave plate? Sorry to bombard you with questions. Thanks for all your help! I have learned so much reading your blog.
Unless it has a voicebox or seems fragile in some other way, I send all of my plush in polymailers. I have three different sizes that use (that I ordered on Amazon). I’ve sold lots and lots of plush over the last year, and have never had any problems doing it this way. I read somewhere that garbage bags can be used as a polymailer if you need to mail something really big, but I have never tried doing that.
I shipped the Hulk gloves in a Priority box because they had a mechanical component to them. The pair that I sold 6 months ago didn’t make noise, and I just sent them in a huge polymailer.
The microwave plate . . . I think I’ve mostly blocked out. ๐ It was a big pain in the rear. I bought a roll of bubble wrap and used the entire thing. I found a box I already had that was big enough and put it in there with lots of filler, so that it had no room to move. I remember thinking it seemed like a lot of work. It did arrive safely though.
Hope that helps! ๐
Thanks so much for all your help. It does help a lot!!!! I will buy some of those polymailers.
The boys are so cute. Great sales. 51 is amazing. And the month is only half way over.
I found one of those smash gloves at goodwill last week. I looked all over for the second one but could not find it so I left it there They wanted $4 for just the one Great sales
Great job. I’m aiming for two listings a day while all three Kiddos are home this summer. Great job on the sales. Oh and I love that you use your couch as a backdrop sometimes too!
