Tonight I was working on updating some Craigslist listings. There was one item I couldn’t remember if I had already listed and rather than scroll through my listings I searched for it on the Craigslist site. I found my listing as well as the same item listed by someone else. Out of idle curiosity I clicked on their link and took a look at their listing. Their last line read:
Selling several other items for children, for all my sales search keyword: J47
Brilliant!!! This may be Craigslist common knowledge, but I have somehow never run across it. I always have stuff listed on Craigslist, more at some times than others. Right now I have a lot listed and more to list because of Halloween (time to purge the costumes I’ve been collecting!) and because I had been collecting/amassing/hoarding a bunch of items for a consignment sale scheduled for this month that has been canceled (boo!). So, I’ve also been listing some of the now non-consignment sale items. I want them out of my house.
This has been a good Craigslist week for me, so far. I’ve sold six items in the last four days, and have another sale scheduled for tomorrow. One of those sales and another one potentially happening on Friday included the buyer asking what other kids items I had for sale. And I didn’t have a good answer for them – too many to easily share, enough that it’s hard to keep track of it all. But not anymore! I am updating all of my listings with a code of my own, and will be sending a follow-up e-mail to both who inquired. Will it affect my sales? No idea. But for now, I’m loving it.
